BRAC Bank-Daily Star ICT Awards Honor Trailblazers in Technology
The BRAC Bank-Daily Star ICT Awards recognized five organizations and two entrepreneurs for their exceptional contributions to the advancement of Bangladesh's information and communication technology (ICT) sector. A total of seven winners were announced across six categories during the ninth edition of this annual event, held on Friday at Le Méridien Hotel in Dhaka.
Afif Zaman, founder and CEO of ShopUp, was named the ICT Business Person of the Year, while Sadia Haque, co-founder and CEO of ShareTrip, received the ICT Woman of the Year award.
Logic Software Limited was honored as the ICT Solution Provider of the Year (Local Market), and The Cow Company won the ICT Solution Provider of the Year (International Market) award. SSL Wireless was recognized as the Digital Commerce of the Year.
In the startup category, Shikho and Instasure Limited jointly won the ICT Startup of the Year award.
The awards ceremony was hosted by The Daily Star in collaboration with BRAC Bank, with additional support from the Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS) and Le Méridien. Mahfuz Anam, publisher and editor of The Daily Star, and Selim RF Hussain, managing director and CEO of BRAC Bank, presented the winners with commemorative crests.
Unlike previous years, the ceremony did not feature the presence of high-ranking government officials on stage.
